Who is responsible
Douro Atlas is run by Michael Martinez, an individual based in Portugal, who is the data controller for this website. Write to hello@douroatlas.com about anything to do with your data.
When you visit a page
To send you a page, the host receives your IP address, your browser type and the address of the page. It uses this to deliver the site and block abusive traffic, not to identify you. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The fonts and the map are served from this domain.
When you email me
I receive your email address and what you write, and use them to reply and to correct the site. I keep the conversation for up to 24 months after the last message.
When you click a partner link
Partner links take you to the partner’s website, which collects data under its own privacy policy, including the cookies that tell it you came from here. The partner tells me a booking was made and the commission, never your name or payment details.
Who else handles your data
- Cloudflare. Hosts the site and protects it from abuse. It processes IP addresses and request data to serve each page.
Cloudflare is a US company; transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, a limit on its use, or an objection to it. Write to hello@douroatlas.com and I will reply within a month. You can also complain to the Portuguese authority, the CNPD, or to the one where you live.

This site sets no cookies. If that changes, this page will say so first.
